A 4-day retreat where youth, parents, and leaders embark on an unforgettable journey with a pioneer trek experience, designed to inspire. This adventure offers a unique opportunity to walk in the footsteps of early Latter-day Saint pioneers, fostering resilience, faith, and camaraderie. We welcome young men and women who are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as well as those in the area who aren’t members of the Church turning 12 in 2025 through age 18 are invited to participate.
Imagine pulling handcarts, camping under the stars, and overcoming challenges together, all while deepening your connection to the rich heritage of the Church. In addition to connecting with the past, they are empowered by their love of God and each other to stay true and faithful in their lives today and always.
The Young Women and Young Men General Presidencies of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints designated the 2025 youth theme as “Look unto Christ” from the scripture Doctrine and Covenants 6:36, which reads, “Look unto me in every thought; doubt not, fear not.”
In conjunction with that theme, our Deseret Mill Stake Youth Committee is excited to announce “Come and See” as this year’s Stake Youth Trek Theme.
"Come and See," and in your coming, lay your burdens at His feet - Alma 22:18
"Come and See," and your eyes will be opened - Acts;17:27
"Come and See," provides both an invitation and a promise to all people, everywhere.
"Come and See," come seeking to know Him, and I promise you will find Him and see Him in His true character as the risen, redeeming Savior of the world.
The phrase "Come and See" appears in the Gospel of John, where Philip invites Nathanael to follow Jesus of Nazareth. Nathanael accepts the invitation and comes to know Jesus as the Son of God and the King of Israel.
The goal for the 2025 Deseret Mills Stake Trek is for youth and leaders to:
An invitation to learn more about Jesus Christ. The phrase appears in the Bible in John 1:39, when Jesus invited two disciples of John the Baptist to come and see Him.
An invitation to lend a helping hand in church-related opportunities. People often want to help, but they need an invitation.
Now that you have received of His light and Love, STAY, STUDY, & NEVER turn back. Steadfast, gallant, intrepid, resolute.
The Lord spoke in plainness, “Be faithful and diligent in keeping the commandments of God, and I will encircle thee in the arms of my love” (D&C 6:20). “encircled in the arms of safety” comes from Amulek's message to the Zoramites about the infinite and eternal Atonement.
Our Trek will focus on the ‘why’ and ‘how’ to seek after Christ, our Savior. All our discussions and activities will invite us to recognize that He gives to all of us and recognize that we are all constantly being invited to come unto Him, to Look, to Learn, to Listen, and to Walk, on all days, at any times, and wherever you need.
"Therefore, fear not, little flock; do good; let earth and hell combine against you, for if ye are built upon my rock, they cannot prevail. Behold, I do not condemn you; go your ways and sin no more; perform with soberness the work which I have commanded you. Look unto me in every thought; doubt not, fear not."
- D&C 6:34 - 36"Look, Cast your eyes about, don't be slothful, don't disbelieve, He is merciful. He will heal you. Then Come and See."
- Dr. S. Michael Wilcox"Learn of me, and listen to my words; walk in the meekness of my Spirit, and you shall have peace in me."
- D&C 19:23In preparation, we invite all youth and adults to join us in studying the resources that inspired our theme.
